Brittany Scott Smith is an Emmy® award-winning television director, producer, and writer. She has held the position of supervising producer for "The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore" on Comedy Central and co-executive producer for "The Rundown with Robin Thede" on BET. Smith's directorial credits include "A Black Lady Sketch Show" on HBO, the election special "Wilmore" on Peacock, "Helpsters" on Apple TV+, "Hello Jack: The Kindness Show" on Apple TV+, and the renowned children's program "Sesame Street" on HBO Max. In 2022, Smith made her directorial debut in the film "All I Didn’t Want for Christmas" on VH1, featuring Gabourey Sidibe, Loretta Devine, Kel Mitchell, and Andrew Bushell.

Smith's exceptional contributions have garnered multiple award nominations, including a Children’s Emmy® win for Best Directing for a Multiple Camera Program. Her proficiency across various genres has driven the success of numerous popular television shows across platforms such as Comedy Central, BET, HBO Max, and Apple TV+.

As the daughter of the esteemed director and DGA Honoree Oz Scott (“SWAT”), Smith is presently involved in the development of "Cally Girl," a family comedy and dark comedy “Barstow”. Additionally, she is producing a documentary on comedy legend Garrett Morris ("Saturday Night Live"). Smith is an active member of the inaugural DGA Atlanta Coordinating Committee. Smith has also served as a distinguished guest speaker for WGA, SVA, SCAD, and CBS programs.

Smith and her husband, actor Arjay Smith ("The Rookie"), co-authored their first children’s book, "Wes and Morris Meet Mr. Buck," with their next book, "Wes and Morris Take a Trip," slated for release next year.

Smith bounces living on the West and the East Coast with her husband and their two children.
